It is very heart wrenching to see the news of the 'horror house' at Noida/Nitari Village unfold everyday. The updates that the news channels flash makes one sick to the stomach. How can a human being ever do such a gruesome act?.... The victims - small, innocent children. This is one of the world' goriest crime. (Oh! come on stop talking about Bush all the time!!).
An interesting point to be seen here is the reaction of the parents of the victims who don't seem to exhibit the kind of vengeance and anger that is normally expected from them. Is it because they are poor and have resigned to the fact that such cruelties happen to then day-in and day-out?. Imagine the outcry and the volatility of the situation if this has happened to a few children of wealthy people. The lack-luster attitude of the Noida police in filing an FIR when the first child went missing thereby paving the way for many more killings is very evident here. It makes sense to hold the station inspector as guilty as the two accused. Mulayam Singh Yadav, with all due respects, calls the village Kothari instead of Nitari!!.
My prayers for the souls of the innocent children to rest in peace. May they have a better life in their next incarnation (if ever you believe that there is one!).
