Vijay TV is launching Ipadiku Rose, the first show to be hosted by any transgender on any Indian television channel. The weekend chat show which will go on air at late night in December, aims to change the society's view of transgenders and others of that community.
Psychologists and counselors would participate in the show and talk about issues considered taboo in society and attempt to answer them.
The show's host Rose has earlier been a trainer in Tamil Nadu State Aids Control Society which is aimed at educating the Tamil Nadu police department about the transgeder community, their rights, issues and concerns.
She is also a recipient of two beauty contest titles and has already a live Tamil show on Vectone TV London for 30 episodes. She holds an MS in biomedical engineering from Louisiana Tech University, USA.
